Anthony Kartsonas, founder of Historic Surfaces LLC, is an architectural conservator and historic finishes specialist. With 14 years of experience and involvement on over 50 significant projects, Anthony’s extensive experience and education allows him to consult on projects involving the restoration and conservation of painted surfaces, plaster, scagliola, and murals. Anthony is experienced in performing paint analyses, including microscopy, for the investigation of historic decorative schemes and coordinate advanced analysis of materials with several laboratories. In addition to the conservation and administrative experience, he has experience in hands-on skills include gilding, glazing, polychroming, stenciling, faux marbleizing, Venetian plaster and other finishes. Anthony spent 8 years(1997 – 2005) working for EverGreene Painting Studios, Inc. as an artisan/conservator, foreman from 1997-2000 and project manager from 2001 to 2005.
